LP: Bulaklak

Napakasaya nilang tignan.

MM: Feeding Time

I don't have any photos of Janna on her first days on earth during feeding time. But I have some photos to share.

This was taken on her 2nd month birthday just after blowing her cake. Look how tiny and skinny she is.

This one was taken on her 6th month birthday. It's her first time to eat solid food. And she loves it. She's asking for more after I gave her a spoonful of Gerber Squash.

Unexpected News!

Mom, Dad and kuya went to Davao last Wednesday. Dad is attending a conference and mom tagged along coz she wanted to get used of riding a plane. Before the year end or early next year, they'll be flying to the US as immigrants. Since mom is alone in the hotel while Dad is in the conference, he asked my kuya to come. Anyway, my kuya's GF is based in Davao, so kuya went with them with glee. Another reason why they're in Davao is that mamanhikan na ang kuya ko sa parent s nf GF niya. They're getting married na kasi this year.

Last night my Dad called us and told us there is a slight problem. It happens that my kuya has been keeping from us that he already have a 6 month old daughter with her fiance. Imagine, 6 months na ... Dad and Mom felt guilty that they've been pouring Janna with love, little did they know they have another apo very far from them. My dad decided that my kuya bring his family with them already. Ano pa magagawa naman, andiyan na eh. We'd love them to stay here at home so that Janna will have a playmate ... but dad decided they'll stay at my tita's condo for a while.

I feel happy for my kuya. Pero I could feel na mahahati na ang attention ng lolo at lola sa mga apo nila. Siyempre, all this time it's been Janna all alone. I'm sure my kuya feels the same when he sees my mom and dad playing with Janna the whole time, while his daughter is in Davao with his in laws. Well, it's his fault naman that he brought his fiance there when she got pregnant.

Another dilemma we have to face is that we barely knew his fiance. We only met her once, and that's it. Oh well, para sa kuya ko have to to treat as family. Just like what they did to Jason.

On the positive note, Janna now have a cousin ... and a playmate, and hopefully a friend with Elay. I hope they'll grow up as close just like us with all our cousins. And I'm sure their lolo and lola will love them both unconditionally just like they did to us.

To Ann and my niece Elleyanna Yvonne (pronounced as El-ya-na), welcome to our family ... hoping to see my pamangkin soon!

LP: Tipanan (Date)

Party Preps

Thanks to those people who read my blog last weekend. As of this moment, we are now preparing for Janna's birthday again. And this time, hubby is into it as well. I'll give a ran down of our preps plus the suppliers.

THEME - We decided not to have one para mas madali. But according to Mec, nabanggit ko na kasi ang colors na gagamitin for the party, sabi niya Crayola daw yung theme ko hahaha. Mukha ngang Crayola hehehe. You'll know why later.

DATE - May 11 falls on a Tuesday, so we decided to have the party by May 17, but realized that it's Mother's Day, so I have to change it to May 16. Time of the party have to wait ... by March, I have to observe the weather and how hot it is in our lawn from 3pm onwards.

VENUE - initially we got a venue from QC but due to tight budget, we asked them if we can get the refund in full. The owner said yes ... but take note that she only did that because we are one of her old clients. Of course, sa iba it will be forfeited. Our new venue will be in our own backyard. We have covered garage that can accommodate some people naman just in case it will rain and have a huge garden for kids to play.

VENUE DRESS-UP - I got Party Boosters to dress up our backyard. We'll gonna have to adjust the design dahil malaki na ang lugar na i-de-dress up niya. Will wait for her quote since she just received the photos yesterday. Balloons that she'll be using are based on pinks and purple.

FOOD CARTS - I have to talked to Ms. A if she still wants to work with me. I guess nagtampo siya sa akin when I cancelled all her services last week because of our budget. Now, hubby wanted to get her again for the food carts since walang bawal dito sa backyard namin, kahit ilang food carts pwede na hehehe. I think will be getting 4 instead of 2 food carts.

CATERER - I'm so sure it would be our good friend, Raymond Wong to cater our event. Their food is so good and we also got their services in one of my Dad's birthday party. Very affordable rates din.

PARTY HOST - Pencil booked with Wizzo ... thanks to Sis Jacque! mwah!

PHOTOGRAPHER - We got Ging Lorenzo as our photographer. Paid our downpayment already. We got her services also on Janna's Christening.

CAKE - I already talked to Ms. Emily Uy of Sugarbox. I won't go with the cupcake tree but have a 2 or 3 layer cake nalang. Kasi medyo lumiit yung budget for the cake. Her cake will be in yellow, yellow green and orange.

LOOT BOX - I'll be getting Blaskie for the loot box. Then my cousin and I will go to Divi to buy some small toys and everything for the kids. Loot box would be in yellow, yellow green and orange as well.

INVITES - DIY ... I'll scrap one of her photos and pa-print nalang namin in 4R or 5R then put in an envelope with map and everything. Kaya ko yan ... actually nakaready na yung invite, will just have to put her latest photo. Papa-picture kasi kami sa studio ng April ... or I'll ask my photo hobbyist Tito or my photo hobbyist friend to capture her shots hehehe. Or pag kulang na sa time or kulang na sa budget... eh DIY nalang namin ni hubby ...

GUESTBOOK - I can scrap this one too, but I had a tip from fellow N@Wie and Ka-Plurkie, Julliefer, I can buy an 8 x 8 scrapbook in Papemelroti and paste Janna's photos nalang per page ... hmmm ... sounds good di ba? Since wala naman kami maid, and malabo din kasi ako makapag-digicrap ng maayos eh di pwede ko tong gawin.

TARPAULIN - madami daw kilala si hubby na nagpi-print ng tarpaulin, so this would not be a problem. And since DIY nanaman to eh ok lang ... grabe! kakayanin ko kaya to? huhuhu! Oo kaya ko to ...

May naalimutan pa ako? I didn't know that party planning is so stressful ... not to mention ... nakakabutas ng bulsa hahaha! Kahit ano basta para kay Janna gagawin namin for her.

And I Gave In...

First of all, I would like to thank those people who took time reading my post last night. I appreciate it talaga ... and also to those who texted me and send out emails (you know who you are) ... sobrang thank you! It's a temporary breakdown lang talaga, actually. When I woke up yesterday morning, my eyes are so puffy and I'm having a hard time opening it. But after I kept myself busy doing some research on fastfood chain birthday parties and their cost while playing Pet Society in Facebook, I've finally gave in and took their advice.

At first it was very hard for me to let go ... pero I have to compromise with hubby, coz he's the one working so hard for the money. So I have to understand, too where the money is coming. We should come up to a very simple yet nice party for Janna in a practical way. So I psyche myself na this is it ... it's a Jollibee or Mcdo party na nga. But of course, stick pa din ako sa suppliers ko ... I won't avail of their services on cake, decors and party loots.

Pero Dad and Jason told me na why bother go to Jollibee or Mcdo or any venue eh I can host the party naman here sa backyard namin. To give you an idea, you can view the photos here. Jason said that I can hire the services of the supplier with food carts. Jason also said that I can dress up the venue with balloons, and will gonna hire a party host, and the cake will still be with Sugarbox. And of course, will hire a photographer pa din. Promise niya yun eh.

Ang maganda pa nun is it's free hehehe.

And one thing's for sure ... they really love me ... and they love Janna ... And I'm so sorry that I doubted them a little. Just want to let all of you know na ok na ako ... salamat sa inyong lahat.

A Mother's Rant

I've been preparing for Janna's 1st birthday by the time she reached 8 months old. I really wanted her party to be different. I don't want a fastfood chain party for her birthday (no offense to those who had their kids celebrated their birthdays in Jollibee, Mcdo ... etc. etc.) I wanted to have a party with lots of balloons based on our theme. I wanted a good party host to entertain the kids. I wanted a beautiful cake for Janna. I wanted loot boxes for the kids to take home and enjoy.

But today, everything went down ... all my plans turned to waste ... all the things a mother dreamed for her daughter's first birthday party was crushed into bits.

Pangarap nyo pala ang Jollibee party ... eh di sana sinabi nyo sa akin at nag-Jollibee party nalang tayo ... pero kung ako tatanungin nyo ... my daughter deserves not just a Jollibee party. She deserves more.

Iniisip ko nalang na busy sila and somebody needs to do the preparations alone ... at ako yun.

And until now buhay pa ang project.

For those suppliers that I cancelled my services, ngayon siguro naiintindihan nyo na kung bakit I need to cancel your services ... kasi wala na ako pambabayad sa inyo.

Kahit papaano eh may na-accomplish ako kahit konti. I'll locked in the date.

After 31 years...

... of existence, I'll gonna ride a plane in April. Yes, it's my first time to ride a plane (grabe nakakahiya!) and I'll be riding with Jason and Janna (napaka-swerteng bata ... 11 months old palang siya by that time, and she'll ride a plane na). Dad booked us already via Cebu Pacific. Destination ... Laoag City ... hahaha ... kala ninyo malayo no? It's about roughly 30-45 minute ride. Yun nga lang, both trips are on evenings ... kahit pala i-insist ko na sa window side ako eh di ko din pala makikita ang view sa baba hahaha.

Will be in Laoag for the Holy Week. My grandma keeps on insisting that we should bring Janna in Laoag so that she could see her great grand daughter.

Will gonna stay at Fort Ilocandia, my second time to stay there, but a first for Janna and Jason. I'm sure they'll gonna love it. I'm so excited... I can't wait!

Julianna Alyssa @ 9 months old

Her milestone @ 9 months old:

1. Knows how to wave goodbye.
2. Knows how to hum songs ... I think she was born to be a singer hehehe.
3. Additional words she can utter:
- A-ba for labas
- aba! for the expression Aba!
- anda for ganda
- a-ap for sarap
4. Loves to stand up
5. Starting to cruise around her crib.
6. Still drinks more milk than eat more solid food.
7. She knows how to kiss.
8. She can twitch her lips like a mouth of a fish.
9. She can do beautiful eyes and kilig gesture.
10. At night, she prefers not to be lulled to sleep, but rather put in bed and she'll shut her eyes every once in a while to tire herself to sleep.
11. She explore her hands more lately. she wave it, close and open, wiggle it, putting it in her mouth ... she's so facinated with her hands.
12. Does "eat! bulaga!" on anything that can cover her face. Before she only does that on her lampin.
13. Now uses large size diapers.
14. Now weighs 7.5 kilos and measures 74cm.
15. The laundry hamper is her favorite place after a walker ride.
16. If she hears a song, it's either she'll stomp her feet or wave her hand to the tune. I love it! kakatuwa!

LP: Puso (Heart)

Kaya ko to!

It's only a day that I don't get any help with a maid. This morning, the two new helpers didn't pass the family standards so Dad decided to let them go. Dalawa sila pero none of them knows how to cook. Eh di I told them na I'll teach them how ... pero ang sinagot nila sa akin eh sa lahat ng trabaho bilang maid, yung pagluluto ang ayaw nila gawin. So, ano ang gagawin mo sa taong ayaw matuto? Eh di ibalik mo sa pinanggalingan hahaha.

I must say, mahirap pero I need to do this. And bihira talaga makatagpo ng matino. So goodluck to our household help hunting! Sana naway makahanap kami ng maayos at mapagkakatiwalaan.

Balita ko may bago nanaman daw parating bukas ... hmmmm ...

WS: Welcome Hailey!

The whole family went to another family friend’s event. It was the Christening of Hailey Eunice, daughter of Elmer and Hazel Bautista on February 7, 2009. It just happens also that I’m one of the godparents. Janna enjoyed the event. She loves the balloons around her, people coming and saying hello to her. I love the place where they held the reception. It’s in Dencio’s Capitol Hills. The view is very nice. Actually, it’s my first time to go there, maybe that’s why I’m in awe. Love the food as always.

To Hailey Eunice, welcome to the Christian World. And hope to see you soon.

You can view more photos here.

See how others spend their weekends here.

New Maids

A new set of household help arrive yesterday. Of course, they’re not that good like Ingrid and Shasha but at least there’ll be somebody to do all the chores so I can concentrate on taking care of Janna. But I’ve learned just today that they don’t know how to cook. One of them claims that cooking is the most hate chore for her. But she can cook the basic like rice (with rice cooker), fried food, pinakbet and diningding… the rest she doesn’t know anymore.

Oh well, maybe I can do the cooking and they’ll be my sou chef and I’m the main cook hehehe. I think I need to ask my Tito now to look for somebody else. I don’t think this two will gonna survive working with us especially with my super OC mom.

Goodluck to them.

A Dream

Saturday night, I had the worst dream in my whole life. And I never were that affected with my past dreams until that night.

I just want to make it clear the facts I’ll blog here are based on what I’ve remembered in my dream. Kumbaga this is a dream sequence, didn’t happen in real life (and I wish it never will happen)

I dreamed about hubby having an affair with somebody else. I know it’s so petty pero in my dream, I know the girl in full detail. I know her name which hubby calls her “Daria” (no offense to women with the name Daria pero I just want to let you know that I so hate you all). I don’t know what her work is but she’s somebody famous because she was seen on magazines modeling for clothes … All I know is that they met in the office where hubby works. I don’t know if she’s an officemate or somebody else. She’s pretty, a bit taller than hubby … and sexy… obviously, opposite ko. So no wonder maghanap ng iba si hubby di ba?

Everytime hubby will go out with her, nagpapaalam pa siya sa akin, and I’ll answer back with a slap on his face. Pero hubby won’t budge, he’ll just look at me and left the house.

I can still remember how she looks like.

When I woke up, I’m having hard time breathing, I’m having chest pains … and I cried so hard. I woke up hubby and hugged him tight. He asked me what’s wrong. I told him everything and he just laughed.

MM: Preggy Days

Actually, I don't have much preggy photos. I used to be a cam whore, but when I got pregnant, things went differently. Though I should be documenting how big I am every month. We had a difficult time getting pregnant coz I was diagnosed with PCOS. No wonder how many times we do it, there's no way I'll gonna get pregnant.

This was taken when I was 4 months pregnant. Nevermind the hair, I went to a friend's wedding and I decided I wanted my hair to be curly than straight.

On my 5th month of pregnancy, we learned that we'll gonna have a girl for our first born. Everybody was excited, coz they really wanted a girl for their first apo hahaha. Weird no? Coz some people might be wishing for a boy.

6th month, I need to undergone medication coz I got UTI. They say that pregnant women were prone to this kind of sickness. I'm a bit worried about taking in antibiotics. But my OB assured me that it would be safe for me and the baby.

7th month, took my glucose test and I passed. I don't have gestational diabetes. Thank God!

This was taken when I was 8 months pregnant. I had my hair cut coz I know when the baby comes out, I won't have time to prep myself with my long hair.

35 weeks, I was admitted at FEU Hospital for preterm labor contractions. When hubby and I went to hear mass last Sunday, April 27, 2008, I felt a huge kick in my tummy na halos ma-weewee na ako sa sakit that went on for a couple of seconds. When we went to my OB the next day, she said I'm having contractions with every 10 minute interval. I got scared too ... coz I wanted to have her out full term. Ayoko ng premature.

This one was taken before my induced labor at 38 weeks. My OB told me to go home and prepare all the things we needed for our hospital stay. I asked hubby to take a picture of me before going to the hospital ... surely I'll gonna miss being pregnant. And I never imagined that my tummy is this big already. When I look in the mirror, it looks a little smaller to me. You can read my birthing story if you want it in detail.

Well, that's my preggy pics ... view other's entries here.

LP: Tsokolate (Chocolate)

LP: Tsokolate

No Maids by Friday

We have two maids at home. They are both vocational course graduates. While they are still looking for work, they decided to work for us as household helpers. In fairness, they are very good, wala talaga kami masasabi sa kanila. Mahilig pa sa bata so pwede ko sila utusan na bantayan si Janna while playing.

Sadly, their tita texted them that they need to go home dahil may naghihintay na trabaho na for them. Of course, sino ba naman kami para pigilan sila umasenso di ba? Kaya nga sila nag-aral eh para hindi maging maid for life. We asked them na wag na muna sana umalis hanggang wala pa sila kapalit. Kaso they need to go na daw dahil kailangan na kailangan na daw sila.

Starting Friday ... I might not go online that often. I'm sure I'll gonna miss again my cyberworld. I'll be blogging less coz it will be mommy duties on my own ... and not to mention ... magiging cook nanaman ako for everybody ... I'll also have to take care of some chores ... hay o hay ... ngayon pa naman, very demanding si Janna dahil she's learning to stand and walk na kasi. Kaya pag playtime, you have to watch her. Hindi pwede iwanan.

Now we're hoping to look for new helpers. Sana kasing galing nila ... Lord, help us!

To Ingrid and Shaha, thank you for everything, for making our lives a little easier. Wishing you goodluck on your new jobs and I'm sure Janna won't forget you both. God bless you.

Janna with Tita Landang and Tito PioFamily Dinner 02.2009

My Tita Landang and Tito Pio came to the Philippines for a visit. They arrive last Saturday but met up with them only last Sunday. They stayed at home for the whole day. We had a busy Sunday. We accompanied my Tita at Bridal Factory, Commonwealth for her gown that she will wear on my cousin's wedding in October. And she got some "malong" from mom and made them into casual dresses.

I also get myself a dress using a "malong" from Mom for my Uncle's wedding on March 28. I also told them I need a bolero to hide my big arms hehehe. Too bad, the cloth can't accommodate Janna's dress anymore. Good thing Mom bought her a dress from Purple Candy last year. I'm sure by March, it will fit her perfectly.

After that, we went to a salon for my Tita's hair colored and she also badl needs a pedicure and manicure. I also had my foot spa after a month of no scrub. Mukha nanaman siyang paa.

Then the whole family went to the mall for Dad, tita and tito had their facials. But Tita had her warts removed ... they even covered her face with a greenish mixture that after the session, she looked like Shrek hahaha!

Janna also had her moments ... look how big she is now.

Thank you Tita Evelyn, Tita Josie and Tito Junior for all the loots. And thank you Tita Landang for bringing them to us ... and of course thank you sa mga bigay mo which Janna loves ... especially the books. We so love it!

Can't wait for my Twilight books ... nasa Laoag pa eh hahaha!

I started putting them in her album Sunday night right after I put Janna to bed. I'm halfway through it by 1:00a.m. Then I resumed Monday at 4:00p.m. while she is taking a nap, finished by 5:30p.m. Grabe ang dami no? I almost got a stiff neck just by doing that.

Lesson learned: Print photos every month, try to edit photos while you can. I've been scrapping them for almost 2 weeks.
