Memories of Laoag

Today is my last day at work. Mr. Onogi (one of our Japanese boss) will treat the girls out to lunch. Hehehe sabi kasi ni Maam Alma, pet niya kasi ako hehehe ... ever favorite ... Ginagawa ko lang normal ang araw as much as possible. Ayokong umiyak waaaaaaaahhhh!

Here are some things I'll gonna miss pag nasa Manila na ako...

SCENIC SPOTS... to name a few, Fort Ilocandia, Pagudpud, Bangui Bay Wind Farm, Burgos Lighthouse, Patapat Falls, Patapat Bridge, Paoay, Malacañang of the North, Batac, Pasuquin, Laoag ... basta madami hahaha! Food ... empanada espesyal, bagnet, pinakbet, longganisang vigan, chichacorn, KBL (kamatis, bagoong and lasona (fresh onion), at marami pang iba.

I'm getting married in 3 months so I have to leave Laoag for my full blast preparation on our wedding.

So folks ... I'll see you when I see you all. Maliit at bilog ang mundo kaya magkikita pa tayo lahat! I'll gonna miss you all ... salamat sa mga wishes ninyo for me and Jason. I love you all!

Goodbye Laoag ... Manila, I'm coming home!

A Special Treat

Yes, another special treat. Yesterday, I was chatting with Joel sa YM (wala kasi yung dyesebel niyang boss niya). Tapos he mentioned that he's been thinking about treating me out for dinner kasi di na ako makakapunta sa birthday celebration niya sa Aug. 12 (sayang naman!

Joel, Jacob, Jerson, Randy, Glenn and Angie are already there waiting for me. How sweet naman, touched ako as in. Kahit may mga trabaho pa sila sa office tumakas sila just for me. Maya-maya lang, Bernie joined us in.

We decided to go nalang sa house nila Bernie and Angie. From there, dun nalang nagpatuloy ang kwentuhan.

I love this people ... kasi nung nagkaroon ng issue sa office (both Toyo and PCI) hindi nila ako iniwan. They stand beside me and super pinagtatanggol nila ako. Kaya hindi ko sila makakalimutan promise!

And to Joel (uy I know you're reading my blog right now) thanks for the treat ... sabi nga ni Angie ang sweet mo daw para maalala mo pa na lumabas tayo lahat bago ako umalis kasi siya daw hindi niya alam kung paano lalo na pag wala si Nydia. I thank God for having a friend that is so sweet and so thoughtful. I'll see you when I see you *wink wink* (sikretong malufet baka maudlot ... pray hard, I know God is so generous ... I'll pray din na sana mag-work yun to help you na rin) and don't forget "ninong" pag nag-abroad ka na, you're future inaanak will be waiting for you :) Don't get so depressed baka kung mapaano ka pa. Masama yung sobrang depression. Nandito lang ako kahit 10 hours travel by bus at 45 mins travel by plane ang layo natin ... eh ang text segundo lang, ang email ganun din. Pwede din naman mag-chat hehehe! And promise ko sa inyong lahat, pag nag-visit ako sa Laoag for a vacation kita-kits tayong lahat ok ok ?

Ay oo nga pala ... I bought this sneakers kasi ang cute (wow motiff) hehehe! And Jason arrived this morning. Whoopeee! He'll help me packed my things for tomorrow. Saka he'll gonna convince Mamang to come to our wedding :) ang saya di ba? I miss Jason so much ... kanina nga ayoko na siya iwan sa bahay ... he's sleeping like a baby :) cute niya pagmasdan matulog :)

6 days to go ...

Yup, six days to go and I'm off to Manila for good. Maybe this time the stress would be lessened, my eating habits will be back to normal ... my skin will can now relax until my wedding day.

I'm starting to transfer my personal files on CD's... I'm starting to miss my life here in PCI Laoag Project. I've been here for almost five years already kaya nakakalungkot din kahit papaano. Ayoko umiyak sa last day ko. I hope everybody would be calm.

I'm sure my lola will be sad, too. She was actually crying last Saturday. She told me that everybody's leaving her. Awww lola wag naman ganyan. One of my cousins din kasi will start her review for her NCLEX. Medyo matagal din kasi siya mawawala. Mga 5 months. Kaya malungkot si lola talaga. We were not talking about us leaving when she's around.

I'm sure magkikita-kita pa naman kami ulit.

Good news is that, Nydia already gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Lumabas sa ultrasound is a boy, nung lumabas, walang lawit hahaha. Grabe, 7 years nila hinintay to mag-asawa, ngayon lumabas na siya. As usual, ninang nanaman ako whoopee! Kaso sa Laguna yun... ang layo grabe. Congrats Mama Nyds :).

I'm ready to let go Joel's gameboy.

I'm trying to lose weight na talaga. I was stressing myself on the sleeve treatment again ... kaso kasi nung tri-ny ko medyo itaas yung arms ko parang ang bigat.

One problem pa is my hair is falling. Kasi I have a weak hair. Good thing my W@wie sisters are a big help. Marami sila advices kaya gagawin ko lahat yun :)

And guess what? Jason's coming here para sunduin ako on Wednesday. How sweet :) and he'll gonna talk to Lola din kasi eh. Kaya he needs to come talaga. We'll be waiting for you My Labs mwah! You'll help me pack my things pa eh :)

Don't lose that 90% that you already have ...

Model: Pittipat and Jojo

Location: La Mesa Eco park

(My bestfriend sent out this email way way back pa. When Jason and I had our dialogues on our Discovery Weekend, I mentioned him about this article Bo Sanchez wrote ... share ko lang)

Don't lose that 90% that you already have ..
by: Bo Sanchez

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. "Wow,this girl in my office is a real looker. I'm crazy about her because she's also understanding, intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse is not."

Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be more charming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Have greater sex appeal. And you will find a woman or man who will need you and pursue you and go loco over you more than your spouse ever did. Because no wife or husband is perfect.

Because a spouse will only have 90% of what you're looking for. So adultery takes place when a husband or wife looks for the missing 10%. Let's say your wife is melancholic by nature. You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laughter. Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pyjamas, smelling of garlic and fish oil,you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high heels, and a red pencil-cut skirt. Or because your husband is the quiet type, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame who has the makings of a talk show host.

But wait! That's only 10% of what you don't have. Don't throw away the 90% that you already have! Add to your spouse's 90% the 100% that represents all the years that you have been with each other. The storms you have weathered together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a couple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. The wealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already have. But I'm not just talking about marriage.I'm talking about life! About your jobs. About your friends. About your children. About your lifestyles. Are you like the economy airline
The main message: If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are is FIRST CLASS!

Commitment

Model: Era and Edwill (October 15 couple)
Photos by: Frank of Imagineering
Location: La Mesa Ecopark

(I got this on my email 2 years ago pa ... problem is the one who sent me forgot to write down who the author is ... share ko lang kasi after we had our Discovery Weekend, nabasa ko lang to ... hehehehe!)

The most important, most critical component in successful loving is commitment. Not love.

It's easy to love without commitment. People do it all the time. Easy to love, to give of oneself for a while. But commitment implies bonding in sucha way that one promises to keep the fires of love burning indefinitely.

It also means shutting one's heart to the possibility of loving another who might even be more attractive, even more lovable. Not easy. This is why solid commitments are not at all as common as we are led to believe.

In fact, more often than not, I think that the commitment two lovers make are not equal. What I mean is that the commitment of one might be a whole lot more or a whole lot less than the partner's.

We see it all the time. One loves more than the other and is more committed than the other. It is false to believe that two lovers love each other to the same degree. We have often seen lopsided love relationships where one partner is giving so much more to the relationship than the other. But writers and poets seem to always indicate that love isn't just a two-way street, but an equal two-way street. That hardly ever happens. It is impossible to determine exactly how much a man loves a woman or how much a woman cares for a man.

Love cannot be measured and that can be a huge problem. You can love someone and tell him "I love you" and you're telling the truth. But how much do you love her/him? Enough to let him court you? Enough to go on date with her/him? Enough to marry her/him? Enough to die for her/him?The greatest test of true love is commitment. And the greatest indicator of deep love is deep commitment. There can be no doubting this.

I have heard people say all the right words, make all the right moves and pledge undying love, only to walk away weeks or months later. Were they inlove? Sure they were. But not enough to allow them to hold strong in their love. Not enough to keep a commitment regardless of the pain.

A lover gets this sinking feeling when there is a sense that one is more committed than the other. When one is giving a lot more than one is receiving. When one's love is a lot more solid than the creaky love of the partner. When a couple believe strongly that their commitment to each other is rock solid, there is a deep sense of security, a feeling that it's OK to give all because the gift of yourself is safe in the hands of the beloved.

If, however, there is doubt or, even worse, the conviction that one is engaged in one-way giving, in a one-way commitment that is lopsided, thenthere is a tendency to pull back and not give as much. And when that happens, love begins to fade.

In the countless counseling sessions I have had with troubled couples over the years, there has always been the problem of a failing commitment on the part of at least one of the partners.

Unless there is the raising of the level of commitment, the relationship is doomed. It's finished. Sooner or later the stresses will take their toll and the relationship will begin to fall apart.

On the other hand, look carefully at lovers who are still very much in love after 20, 25 years. Their commitment to each other cannot be shaken

Neither can their love.

Souvenirs

Here’s our souvenirs already … kaso nagkaroon ng problema. Kasi when I’m trying on one of Dad’s Carlo Rossi … hindi siya nag-fit … huli na para ibalik ko kay Ms. Sheila … Kaya malamang yung 187ml bottle nalang bibilhin namin. Here’s some photos of it … hehehe! And the window picture frame is our souvenir for our guest.

Wine holders for the Female Principal Sponsors

Wine holder for our Male Principal Sponsors

Wine holder for our parents ... hehehe siyempre dapat meron din

Photo frames shaped like a window for all our guest. Bakit ito napili ko? Kasi we're both Architects (ako technically, siya licensed)

Any comments whatsoever?

I had my 2nd fitting with Mr. Jun Ricaforte … konting revision nalang sa sleeves, though na-gets na nila yung gusto ko, whooopeee! Hahaha! Masikip siya as in masikip kaysa nung una kong fitting.

Prenup location is in UP Diliman and Parks and Wildlife … no choice eh, wala na kami budget for out of town shoot :D hehehe!

Discovery Weekend

At 5:00pm, we're already in OMI Retreat house for our DW. It's because we thought that registration ends at 5:30. Obvious ba excited kami hahaha!

Two couples kaming sabay dumating. One of the 3 is a fellow w@wie, Kris (ni Den).

Since maaga pa, nagliwaliw muna kami ni Jason. Picture dito, picture dun. hehehe! tapos bigla namin naalala, kailangan pala namin bumili ng drinking water for our room. I texted Pittipat to buy us water and sanitary napkin... yes sanitary napkin. I'm expecting to have my period anytime and … I forgot to buy one.

We stayed at the lobby coz maraming mosquitoes sa nga huts outside. Tapos may couple kaming katabi. Saw their tags, its Kris and Den. They're such a wacky couple I might say. Just like us tawa sila ng tawa lagi. Ayan dumating na sila Pat, may dalang tubig eh kaya alam na namin na sila yun. We said our hi's and hello's.

We had a lot of activities. A lot of topics discussed… I’ll never forget those times we have to write down our answers to the questionnaires given in a form of a love letter to your partner. Jason was not into that kind of stuff pero ang sarap ng feeling he’s writing me a love letter. Nakakakilig at nakakatuwa kasi we exactly have the same feelings for each other. Wala nga kami masyado dialogues. Wala naman kami masyado issues eh. Nagkaroon man na-resolve na naming dalawa yun noon pa. And everytime we have dialogues … waaaaaahhhh hindi pwedeng hindi ako umiyak. Mahal na mahal ko talaga siya as in. All small efforts are appreciated. Discovery Weekend is for you and your partners realization, preparation for your marriage. During dialogues, couples are not allowed to socialize with other couples except breaktimes. You always do things together and you always walk as a couple. hehehe! Imagine parang PDA with consent.

Food is always great. We eat 5 times a day. 3 meals and 2 meryenda. Yum! Coffee, tea and choco are overflowing. I'll gonna miss the maruya, sago gulaman, and turon. The meals were ok walang inuulit kaya di nakakasawa. During meal time you'll be assigned to different tables and sit with different couples as well. Swerte mo if yung makakatabi mo medyo kwela kasi no dull moment. Kasi mag-oopen up yun ng mga kung ano-ano just to break the ice. I'll never forget Greg and Ana, and Billy and Abby. Whenever there's a table na maraming tumatawa, I'm sure nandun sila.

This was definitely one great experience for me and Jason. I can see nag-enjoy talaga siya. I enjoyed it more. Kumbaga sulit ang binayad namin. This don't happen everyday no. hehehe! After spending 3 days and 2 nights in OMI Retreat house, Discovery Weekend was ended with a song called “You and I” (sino pwede mag-share ng mp3 sa akin nito? hahaha) With the girls all in one circle, singing, and the guys surprised us with 3 long stem roses … how sweet… Until now I’m still humming the song. Last song syndrome na ata hahaha.
You and I
You and I will travel far together
We'll pursue our little star together
We'll be happy as we are together
We may never get to heaven
But it's heaven, at least to try

You and I are going on together'
Til the time we have is gone together
Watch the evening drawing on together
Growing older, growing closer
Making memories that light the sky
That only time can make
That only love can make
That only we can make
You and I

You and I are going on together
'Til the time we have is gone together
Watch the evening drawing on together
Growing older, growing closer
Making memories that light the sky

That only time can make
That only love can make
That only we can make
You and I
You and I,
You and I, ...

Aside from the fact that we proved our love for each other, we became more sensitive to our needs. We became more expressive on how we really feel for each other. God never fails to remind me of the best gift He ever gave me. And that's Jason.

So what's the verdict? Of course, we're still getting married in October. With or without Discovery Weekend, I know tuloy ang kasal. But because of DW, lalo kami naging sure sa pagmamahal namin sa isa't isa. Discovery Weekend did help us a lot. Hope you can have the same experience just like ours.

Sila Pittipat kasi nakatalikod ... di namin nakuhanan hihihi! We're with the DW Auxies and Fr. Ben Tanseco ... sobrang cool ni father grabe! (Sana kaw nalang magkasal sa amin sa October hihihi)

After DW before going home...picture taking muna siyempre!

Trial Hair and Make-up with EJ Litiatco

I had my TMU with EJ Litiatco last Thursday, July 6. I was there around 2:30p.m. She texted me that she'll gonna be late. So I had my free manicure and pedicure. A couple of minutes, Taday stepped into the room. He's EJ's hairstylist. He started doing my hair while EJ's not around pa.

It took her mga 2 hours. And she suggest that I moisturized some parts of my face because she could see the foundation is breaking out already. From now on I should start to concentrate more on those area she told me. Sabi niya di naman daw siya ganun katagal mag-make up sa wedding day itself, sa trial talagang matagal siya mag-make up.

I really love her, tama pala ako. I know she’s good talaga and super duper nice. I booked her right away. Saka like I’ve said before, we have the same skin disorder (asthma of the skin) kaya alam niya yung mga bawal sa skin ko. Two times ako nag-change ng lip color kasi the first one went too dark. Here are some photos from her and my digicam. Any comments please?

A shot taken right after the trial make sa salon niya.

This one sa isang part ulit ng salon niya with mixed lights para daw makita niya ang effect

Sample do na gagawin sa hair ko pero she forgotten I wanted the updo with curls ... hindi na daw niya kakalimutan hehehe.

Vent Out Again!

First of all, blog ko to kaya I can say whatever I want ... I'll do what I want ... so back off!

I believe na ginawa ni Ms. Benz at Mr. John ang e-groups na eto para matulungan natin ang isa't-isa ... kung may suggestion ka... fine send it out sa group, it might help somebody. that's how our group works ... sisterhood/brotherhood ... sharing ideas and everything di ba?

O bakit ba ako nagvevent out nanaman? Ok I won't go further on the details ... Pero there's a W@wie asking how she can have maps for her invites (ok that's the clue already ... hagilapin nyo na kung bakit ako nagalit) Ako naman since I've been using the Citiatlas since college pa, it's the most ACCURATE, more DETAILED road map we have here in the country. Kaya ako naman go ako na mag-suggest na scan niya yung Citiatlas tapos edit nalang niya sa Autocad or Adobe Photoshoppe ... after that ... there's one W@wie who suggested this one ... "instead of scanning Citiatlas, there are maps available online - www.mapcentral.ph." (clue nanaman yan...search the mails nalang).

Like I've said to her on mail, I think she meant no harm sa suggestion niya ... pero its very clear sa statement nya na "instead of scanning Citiatlas" eh ako agad ang tinamaan dahil ako ang nag-suggest nun sa e-groups. Heller? OO nakatulong nga kayo sa iba, on the other hand naman, meron kang nainsulto. Pareho lang kami nag-sa-suggest, so there's no need na sapawan mo yung suggestion ng iba coz I know, as a W@wie myself, w@wies were taking notes suggestions from other W@wies also. Kaya I'm sure its her decision kung sino susundin niya or not.

I've tried to go to www.mapcentral.ph ... In my opinion ... The CitiAtlas is still the most ACCURATE, more DETAILED road map we have here in the country. To the W@wie who's asking for maps ... it's your decision if you get your map from the Citiatlas or the mapcentral ... hehehe!

Pasalubong ...

Before I left the house, Tita Jean gave me my pasalubong. Besides the E2 (actually, its not a pasalubong, I'll gonna pay it), I got my Precious Moments Bride's Bible. It's so small, a little bigger than a pocket size bible. But its so pretty. I think I have 2 consult my fellow W@wies about the standard size of bibles for the ceremony.

I have a Clinique Happy Heart from my Tita Evelyn. I made lambing if they can buy something for my wedding. She gave 13 gold dollar coins for my arrhae, and now this perfume.

I also got 2 additional books ... The Mermaids Chair by: Sue Monk Kidd. I was just curious when I saw it in Amazon.com so I told tito to buy this for me, and so he did. Whoopee ...

Oh I'm sure this book is a gift from my Tita Jean. It's kinda helpful to me in the future. Maybe this are the kind of books Claudine Baretto and Kris Aquino reads. Read the first part and its quite interesting.

And also I got a 512MB Memory card for my E2. Alright, I thought I'll gonna buy one for it. Hindi pala. I'll try to upload mp3s to it and see how this baby works ... yeah baby!

Weekend with Minia and JP

My boss was in a good mood yesterday that's why I never missed the chance to tell him that I'll be resigning already and I'll be staying till the end of the month. he was happy to hear about and he said that its about time I'll gonna get married. He told me that its really nice working with me for almost 4 years already. Ahww isn't my boss sweet. My tears almost fell but I tried to hold on to it. Now, my days is already ticking ...

My dad's brother and his family came here in the Philippines for a month vacation. We're so excited to see them especially our two cousins Minia and JP. The last time we saw Minia was when she was still 5 yrs old. And now she's already 16 years old. JP is only three. They're so cute really. I love cuddling them both. JP talks a lot with an english accent. Minia can understand Tagalog but can't speak it.

As usual, the table is full of palatable foods. Eto ang mamimiss ko sa bahay ni Lola... madaming pagkain grabe..That's the reason why I'm having a hard time losing weight hahaha!

Sunday came... went down for breakfast. Changed clothes because nag-aya siya to go the beach. But before we left, my tita gave my PalmOne Tungten E2. Whoopee yahoo! I've been eyeing to have one of these after I resign to organize my scheds especially with my suppliers.

We went to the beach by 7am. While they were swimming, as usual, photographer nanaman ako. But that's ok. After that nagbanlaw kami sa may poso. Susme, nagbasaan pa kami magpipinsan. Parang kami mga bata. Our grandma's laughing so hard. Maybe because we reminded her of us when we were still little.

This is Jon Paolo, JP for short

This is Minia, JP's big sister ... really big... just kidding ading!

We were all bored so we went upstairs to watch JP's DVD's. We're kinda bumming ourselves in my room. Tita Rose bought a lot of chichirya for us to munch on. Grabe na to, added fats again huhuhu! It's something Minia wanted to taste again. The last time she ate one was when she was 5 years old. Actually, she's dying to eat spaghetti at Jollibee. There's no Jollibee store in Virginia, only in California. Tsk! wawang bata.

This are a few request from Minia besides eating Jolly Spaghetti. She's asking her mom if she can bring some to the US.

Hay sayang, I can only be with them for few days, I'm going to Manila on Wednesday night for our Discovery Weekend. They will only stay here for only two weeks...huhuhu!. I'll surely gonna miss them so much.
