Milestone:

• Respond to sound by startle, blinking, crying etc.
• Fixates on human face ... follows with eyes.
• Respond to parent's face and voice
• Lifts head momentarily when prone.
• Can sleep 3-4 hours at a time and stays awake 1 hour or longer
• Can be consoled by being talked to or held.

Janysha Andrea @ 1 month old

We celebrated Jandi's 1 month birthday last January 23, 2010. Mom cooked pancit and lechon paksiw while Jason bought cake and ice cream. It's still too early to tell Jandi's milestone, for she's only a month older. But all I can observe is that she can now recognize voices. Whenever someone is talking to her, she makes effort to look to the direction where the person is. And she loves classical music. Everytime my mom plays her instrumental CD's, she automatically be lulled to sleep (or all babies are like that? hehehe!). I can see tell that she can see a bit, maybe ... but still blurry.

Julianna Alyssa @ 11 months old

This is an overdue post. We celebrated Janna's 11 month birthday in Laoag City. Feeling ko birthday na talaga yun kasi ang daming pagkain parang may fiesta. Tapos hindi naman nakisaman ang Red Ribbon dahil wala sila ng rectangle size na cake big enough to feed 50 persons or so. Kaya we opted to buy 3 chocolate rolls.

Janna's milestone at 11 months:

• Her new tricks are as follows: clapping, flying kiss, a-line, sawsaw suka (yes, the sawsaw suka game), high five, give me five, waives goodbye, waives hello, putting her hands to her ear as if she's talking on the phone, eat-bulaga, kiss and hug.
• Just learned how to walk, still a little wobbly but she can already do 2 steps at a time. The other day she did 4 steps.
• Knows how to climb down our bed. She learned it while attempting to grab one of her toys. Ended up sliding from our bed, and she kept repeating it until she mastered it.
• Eats a bit of rice with sabaw and minced pork or beef or mashed veggies. Actually, she's now eating table food little by little.
  
• Can eat biscuit and chews it thoroughly before swallowing it.
• Drinks 6 oz of milk every 2 hours.
• Additional words she can utter: baby - she says baby when she wanted us to carry her, bow for blow (coz we're teaching her how to blow her candles for her birthday cake on May), e-lo for Hello, lay for Elay, eat-ba! for eat bulaga, wow for wow, wim for swim
  
• Upper front tooth sprouting already.
• She had her first time to swim in a pool on an inflatable on her 11 month birthday. She's a water baby. Loves to swim in the pool. Hubs and I decided to enroll her in swimming lessons by the time she learned how to walk properly.
  

• First time to ride a plane on May 19, 2009. She loves flying and the next plane ride will be in July, hopefully with my in-laws.
  

• Still a cruiser, doesn't use her walker anymore. She's more into pushing it not riding it.
• Loves books... especially those with large illustrations.
• Loves dogs, she shouts with glee when she sees one of our dogs peeking in our kitchen.
• Loves to dance, any song she hears as long as she loves the beat, she'll dance. Even if she's drinking milk. May kasama pang head bang yun.
  

Less than 2 weeks and will be celebrating her 1st birthday. I'm getting excited already and at the same time a little bit nervous on the day of her party. Sana pumunta ang mga relatives and friends namin on that special day para ma-feel naman ni Janna the love they have for her.

Julianna Alyssa @ 10 months old

Julianna Alyssa's milestone at 10 months old

1. Loves taking her vitamins. Before, I have to put it on her food or milk just to make her get to take her vitamins everyday.
2. She now eats solid food 3 times a day, and now eating two tablespoons per meal.
3. Doesn't use her walker that much, she loves to climb on things for her to stand up.
4. And she can now cruise around the house particularly in her crib and in the sala.
5. She already learned how to clap her hands.
6. New words she's been uttering this past few days: Bab-ba - for Bobby (our mini pin), dey - for there, Pay-pay or Pay - for Popoy (our retriever dog)
7. Loves to see our dogs and flowers.
8. When she's having difficult time sleeping, all you have to do is comb her hair.
9. She'll make kilig when you say kilig-kilig to her.
10. Learned how to drink to a sippy cup.
11. Loves fruit juice and water.
12. Swims for the first time in an inflatable pool. And she love it!
13. Super mega bigtime drooler!
14. She loves eating super mega small bite sizes of bread during merienda.
15. Little by little, she's trying to socialize especially with toddlers and kids.

Julianna Alyssa @ 9 months old

Her milestone @ 9 months old:

1. Knows how to wave goodbye.
2. Knows how to hum songs ... I think she was born to be a singer hehehe.
3. Additional words she can utter:
- A-ba for labas
- aba! for the expression Aba!
- anda for ganda
- a-ap for sarap
4. Loves to stand up
5. Starting to cruise around her crib.
6. Still drinks more milk than eat more solid food.
7. She knows how to kiss.
8. She can twitch her lips like a mouth of a fish.
9. She can do beautiful eyes and kilig gesture.
10. At night, she prefers not to be lulled to sleep, but rather put in bed and she'll shut her eyes every once in a while to tire herself to sleep.
11. She explore her hands more lately. she wave it, close and open, wiggle it, putting it in her mouth ... she's so facinated with her hands.
12. Does "eat! bulaga!" on anything that can cover her face. Before she only does that on her lampin.
13. Now uses large size diapers. Mukhang pa-XL na dahil lumalaki na ang pata!
14. Now weighs 7.5 kilos and measures 74cm.
15. The laundry hamper is her favorite place after a walker ride.
16. If she hears a song, it's either she'll stomp her feet or wave her hand to the tune. I love it! kakatuwa!

8th Month Birthday and Anniversary Celebration.

January 11, 2009, Mom and Dad celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary at home. Medyo diet muna kami sa paglabas-labas dahil gusto namin malakas resistensiya ni Janna bago kami pumunta ng Baguio for Panagbengga Festival next month. We ordered food from Max's and Jason bought a cake from Conti's. And since it's also Janna's 8th month birthday, eh di madami nanaman food on the table wahahaha!

Janna's milestone @ 8 months:
1. Can now get up alone from lying down position, side position and sitting position.

2. Can now wave goodbye
3. Can now do close-open
4. Loves playing "eat! bulaga!" using her lampin hehehe.

5. She knows were to look if you ask her to where she should look for. Example: "Where's Daddy?" she'll look at her Dad. "Where's Lolo", she'll look at her lolo
6. Some words she can speak:

• hinde for no
• yea for yes
  
• i-ja for Lola Lydia (my mom ... badtrip ... hindi namin alam kung bakit first name basis sila ng mom ko.);
  
• Egg for Lloyd (my brother ... hindi din namin alam kung bakit egg ang tawag sa kanya;
• Mam-ma for Mommy;
  
• Dadi or Adi for Daddy;
  
• A-ta for lolo Apin
• Didi for milk

7. She's now practicing to stand up by holding on to something for her to get up.
8. She already have two lower teeth sprouting. She's a big time drooler and super manggigil.

9. Drinks milk from 5oz to 6oz of milk every two hours (I badly need bigger bottles now).
10. She can now eat solid foods from 1 tbsp. to 2 tbsp. per meal twice or thrice a day. Now eating mixed foods according to pedia's advice.

11. Knows how to make "beautiful eyes".
12. Nods for yes.
13. Can now play alone but still with supervision.

14. Can now hold her bottle pero tamad pa rin hawakan ng matagal. Even if I put her trainer bottle holder on it, ayaw pa din niya hawakan.
15. Loves eating marie or teething biscuits. I love the way she looks so messy and all.

16. Her favorite play time with her Daddy.

17. Smiles and giggles a lot.

Four months to go and you're a year older ... Mom and Dad is doing their best to give you the best party you'll ever have. Wish us luck!

Baby Food hoarding!

Last January 7, we went to Janna's pedia for her check-up due to her coughs, cold and fever. According to her pediatrician, no wheezing or halak naman so it's not asthma. Maybe it's just allergies. And the reason for her fever was she has a "singaw" in her throat. Oh wawa naman ang baby.

She lost 100 grams of her weight. And now my mission is to let her gain more before her well-baby check up on January 31.

Her pedia gave us a go signal that she can now eat mixed food. But still can't eat chicken, fish or seafoods, eggs, mangoes and orange so as not to trigger her allergies and asthma. So being the very excited mommy, I bought her baby food. Originally, we wanted home cooked meals for Janna. But wasn't able to do so coz we haven't bought food processor for her baby food. When Janna feels there's big lumps in her food, ayaw na niya kainin ... or nasasamid siya. Pero she loves home cooked potatoes sa nilaga and beef stew. And she loves kalabasa na lutong Diningding without the bagoong.

Julianna Alyssa @ 7 months old

Milestones @ 7 months:

1. Can now say "Ma-ma" for Mommy, ma-mam for water, didi for milk
2. Can now crawl (grabe ang bilis!)
   
3. Can sit down on her own. She practiced while she's in the hospital. By the time we went home, pag hiniga na namin siya ... she sits from her side tapos tinutukod niya yung isang hand niya bago maka-sit up straight.
   
4. Can now cling on the edge of her crib. She's now starting to practice to stand up by grabbing on to handles of her crib. We're planning to lower her crib na kasi baka matuto na tumayo bigla sumampa sa crib at mahulog siya.
   
5. Is now eating solid foods. Her pedia advised us to let her eat a teaspoon per feeding. But she can eat a tablespoonful already ... twice or thrice a day yun ha. Next week she will start to eat fruits.
6. Mastered the use of her walker. Before she walks sideways, but now she walks straight. The best thing of all is that she never slides at all, she walks as if she's walking without a walker.
   
7. Poses and smiles at the camera when you say "Posing!"
8. We started putting on shoes while she uses her walker. Dati kasi walang kasya na shoes, pero ngayon meron na weeeeeeee!
   
9. She now weighs 6.8 kg. and 7o cm. in height.
10. Starting to make "beautiful eyes" when she laughs.
11. Whenever she holds something, when you say "give", she'll give it to you back ... except when she's holding the remote control and our cellphone hehehe.
12. Knows how to wave goodbye. Learned it after her hand was free of dextrose.
    
13. Knows how to kiss mommy and daddy, with matching hawak pa both hands sa cheek yun ha.
14. Loves to play thumping on anything that is shaped like a box. We're planning to buy her a toy drum set for Christmas hehehe.
15. Doesn't like drinking in a sippy cup but rather drinks water from a glass. Sana di masayang yung sippy cup na binigay ng tito niya.
16. Obeys when we say, "Come here, Janna!" or we say "No!"
17. She can now recognize faces and names of the people around her.
    

Milestone: Sitting

She still can't sit by herself, but I tried to make her sit in a sitting position last week ... Still has a problem balancing but getting the hang of it. I'm so proud of her.

More practice honey and you'll gonna do better next time. And I'm sure you'll gonna love sitting while playing with your toys.

Happy 6th Month Birthday, Janna!

Janna's Milestones at 6 months old

1. Can now eat solid food. She started eating cereals two weeks before her 6th month birthday. 1 tsp once or twice a day. On her 6th month birthday, I gave her mashed squash from Gerber. She love it! But I gave her a homemade one earlier, and she doesn't like it. i don't know why.
   
2. Knows how to greet her lolo and lola by running to them (with the help of a walker, of course) whenever they're at the doorstep already.
3. She loves grabbing everything she sees. She knows how a water dispenser works (oo ... alam niya ... at muntikan pa yung hot ang pinindot niya.) She loves holding our Christmas tree na muntik na natumba sa kakahila niya. She almost pulled our telephone cord 3 days ago ... buti nalang nasalo ng isang maid namin at hindi sa kanya bumagsak.
   
4. She smiles whenever you smile at her. But rarely does it to a stranger.
5. Can hold her bottle already but only for a few seconds.
6. She drinks 8oz. of milk every 3 hours.
   
7. When you tell her, "Janna, punta tayo ng Trinoma!" she'll open her mouth in awe.
8. She knows how to smile and pose in camera.
9. Practicing her sitting skills ... she's still learning the concept of balance.
10. When she sees her photo, she laughs smiles and giggles with glee.
11. Loves to see her reflection in the mirror.
12. Sometimes you don't need to lull her to sleep ... she'll sleep all by herself.
13. She already have favorite TV shows like The Wonder Pets, Diego the Animal Rescuer and Dora the Explorer. She likes TV commercials of Colgate ... all as in basta may ngumingiti gusto niya at may masayang tugtog.
14. Sometimes we hear her as if she's like singing a song. May tune kasi pero it's all babbling.
15. She's babbling a lot lately ... as if she wants to carry a conversation to whom she is talking to. Usually she does that to her Dad and her Lolo hihihi.
16. She's now good on face recognition ... yung pedia nga niya umiiyak na siya pag nakikita na niya si Dra. Ong sa clinic. Natatandaan na rin niya konti yung mga places na pinupuntahan niya.
    

Janna's Tummy Time

Unstoppable na si Janna during her tummy time ... gumugulong na siya sa bed actually. Sometimes she can lie on her chest alone, but sometimes she needs a little help. Minsan kasi naiipit niya yung isang arm niya and she can't pull it out, umiiyak siya. Pero once you helped her, tawa na siya ng tawa. My daughter is so weird hahaha.
