Buffalo Wings
This is a request from Heidi. As my birthday gift to her, I'm sharing this recipe I got from AllRecipes.com. Actually, I've added some ingredients into it to make it more Filipino (you know, the tamis-anghang taste) and the preparation is quite a little different. Hope you try it ... this is good! And Heidi, hope you enjoy your birthday with this one.
BUFFALO WINGS
INGREDIENTS:
oil for deep frying
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup hot sauce
oil for deep frying
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup hot sauce
1/4 cup Del Monte Pinoy BBQ Marinade
1 dash ground black pepper
2 tbps. McCormick (or similar) minced garlic
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 chicken wings
1 dash ground black pepper
2 tbps. McCormick (or similar) minced garlic
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 chicken wings
1 Lady's Choice Ranch Dressing for dipping
DIRECTIONS:
- Put the chicken wings in a pot. Add half a cup to one cup of vinegar and salt. Let it cook until it's half cooked or the liquid is almost dry. (Ano ang purpose nito? Para hindi bloody ang chicken. Have you experience eating fried chicken from a fastfood resto ... crispy from the outside, juicy and bloody on the inside ... eeewwww)
- Drain and let it drip for a while.
- In a plastic bag, mix together the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Hold up the opening with your hand and shake/mix everything until the chicken are evenly coated. Seal and refrigerate for 60 to 90 minutes.
- Heat oil in pan. The oil should be just enough to cover wings entirely, an inch or so deep. Fry coated wings in hot oil for 10 to 15 minutes, or until parts of wings begin to turn brown. Set aside.
- Combine the butter, hot sauce, bbq marinade mix, pepper and minced garlic in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir together and heat until butter is melted and mixture is well blended. Remove from heat.
- Place one chicken wing at a time to the sauce mixture to coat evenly and place it to a serving dish.
- Place a small bowl for the ranch dressing for dipping.
Enjoy your buffalo wings! Tell me how it goes!
