A Birthday and A Movie Date

Yesterday, Jason and I attended Alex's 1st Birthday. Alex is the daughter of Jason's cousin Junjun. It was held in Jollibee Marquinton, Marikina City. This is the 2nd time I went to a childrens party full of adult people hahaha! There were kids but they're still babies, as in month old. Some are already teenagers. And some are married couples w/o kids. What do you expect? Hahaha! I never knew that Jollibee mascots eyes blinks. It's only yesterday that I've learned it. Nagbubeautiful eyes kasi siya eh.

And that's Jason and me with Jollibee who's hoping that one day, we're the one who's having a Jollibee party with our first born.

After the party, we went to Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall. It's been quite a long time Jason and I haven't watched a movie. Newly renovated ang cinema ng Sta. Lucia. In fairness ha, medyo comfy na ang seats. And pwede alisin yung armrest. Kaya if you and hubby wants to cuddle dahil malamig eh pwede na tanggalin ang sagabal hehehe.

We decided to watch 300. It's the next best thing to Braveheart. I love the cinematography. The fight scenes were like scenes you see in Matrix ... yung tipong slow motion tapos you can see how the blood comes out of their bodies, how the head detached from the bodies, pasintabi sa mga kumakain ha. Pati yung movements nila kitang-kita mo. Sweet! And I love the soundtrack ... it's like watching The Fast and the Furious. Not to mention ... parang umulan ng matitipunong lalaki sa mundo ... lahat may 6-pack abs ... so sexy ... kulang nalang sumigaw ako sa loob ng sinehan ... siyempre ang poise! hahaha!

Today...

... I asked God for forgiveness.

Last Friday I had my period for this month. I thought I was ok ... Jason told me "Ok lang yan, we'll try again." Not until we went to the mall and saw this girl shopping, wearing her college uniform with a very big tummy. I asked God right then and there. "Lord, how can you let this happen to her, samantalang kami kasal na, we are trying so hard to have one pero di mo naman kami binibigyan?"

That night ... I cried. Jason was so clueless why I'm crying. Then I told him about my thoughts ... and he told me again, "Labs, tama na, ok lang yan ... try nalang ng try ok?" And I slept. I was lulled to sleep by Jason's assurance that's everything's is going to be fine.

I was such a biatch ... I feel so selfish ... I'm so bad to question his plans for us. Sometimes talaga hindi mo na napipigilan ang sarili mo magtanong di ba? Kaya I really prayed hard and asked for His forgiveness. I know He understands us and I know He'll forgive me.

Hahaha sorry guys for that ... can't think of a better title for my post... it's a random thoughts post again so you have to bear with me. Long post to hehehe. All events happened in random order ... naks!

Of all the 10 resumes I've sent last month (February), only one replied. Actually, it's an agency. I never thought it was an agency, because according to their post in Jobstreet, they didn't seem to mention (or I'm the one who didn't mind at all) that they are a recruitment agency for local and overseas jobs. They disclosed the name of the company they're linked to, but all I know is the comapany is located in Balintawak ... it's been almost a month now and still no reply from that agency nor the company. I guess I have to give up my hopes up. But according to my Dad, sometime in June, I'll gonna start to work for a government project again. They haven't told me what company yet but definitely not PCI (Pacific Consultants International). For sure, it's another Japanese firm. It's another flood control project. To all those who are residing in Pasig, finally the government heard your prayers. I was so ecstatic to learn what my starting salary is ... ooops, secret muna baka maudlot! Pero it's a whooping lot of money that even me I don't consider myself worthy of that kind of compensation. I just told Dad that I'll do my best. I might try to take up short courses like 3D Studio Max and the likes, to make myself worthy. Thank you Lord for being so kind to me and my family. But that doesn't mean I'll stop hunting for a job. Government projects depends on funds and budgets alloted for certain projects. Pag walang pondo, walang project.

I went with Jason to UAP Capitol Chapter's Golf Tournament 2007 last March 6. My brother told Jason to drag me to that event para naman daw matagtag ako. Hahaha! All the money they've collected will be donated for Gawad Kalinga Project which the chapter has been helping for the longest time already. I saw the same faces I usually see from other events I attended from UAP QC Capitol Chapter except for the suppliers. A lot of suppliers attended for this game ... siyempre sponsorship kailangan. Adopted child na ako ng QC Capitol. Mantakin nyo ba naman, I have a free t-shirt din for the event. As if I'll gonna play golf. Actually, I'm second photographer for Arch. Jun Bongat (as declared by my hubby, Jason nung na-trapik kami sa Cainta). Kaya wherever he is, nandun din ako. Since na-break in na ang new cam namin last month in Baguio, I got the hang of it's features already.

I get to ride a golf cart for the first time. I'm sure pinagtatawanan ako ni Jason kasi nag-asal bata talaga ako. Jason and I regret on not bringing Dad's golf clubs that day. Driving range only cost 40 pesos for a bucket of 40 balls. Not bad right?

I've started brisk walking last month for health reasons. One good reason is the unstoppable gain of weight. Kuya Jade told me not to get too fat or I might get less chance on getting pregnant. Being bum for a couple of months now, doing nothing but to watch tv, always in front of the computer, eating everything what's on the table ... sinong hindi mag-gigain ng weight di ba? My two brothers are also into it now. My dad treat us for a pair of running shoes just for us to go with him every morning. Oh di ba, ang sarap mag jogging at mag-brisk walking pag bago ang shoes? Hahaha! Just kidding. So far, no effect pa din for me ... pero sa mga kapatid ko nakikita ko na ang results. I just do it every other day ... bakit? Di ba I've mentioned in my past post that I'm allergic to my own sweat? If I'll gonna do it everyday, hindi mawawala yung itchiness and redness ng skin ko lalo na sa mga singit-singit. Dun ako pinupunterya ng mga allergies ko eh. But I'm getting better and better everytime I went on brisk walking. Before I can only take two laps ... now I can do it in four ... imagine how heavy I am kasi madali ako mapagod lagi.

Oh, have you heard of Holy Kettle Corn? According to their website, it is highly recommended for people who are on a diet program, as it contains no preservatives, water, cholesterol, MSG, or butter. While it is high in fiber, its natural sweet-salty taste is not owed to harmful artificial flavoring. Super addicting to munch. I can even finish a large bag full of it. You've got to try it... actually matagal na siyang out sa market, ngayon ko lang siya pinansin. And natuwa pa kami because somebody opened a store outlet of Holy Kettle Corn in Fairview Mall ... we never look on junk foods the same way again after trying this one. Though masyado siya pricey ... 60 pesos for the large bag, and 25 pesos for the small bag.

We're still trying on having a baby ... right now I've been using the Ovulation Calendar from Babycenter.com. According to that, my ovulation period is from March 11-14. Since irregular ako, I keep in my palm one the history of my period since January so I can keep track of my cycle. Natawa nga ako ... kasi I tried doing the math, ano kaya ovulation period ko if 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, or 45 day cycle ako. Magkakalapit lang ang periods believe me. Overlapping pa nga ... ibig sabihin everyday kami magko-contact? hahaha! Silly me ... Don't worry, we won't pressure that much. Masarap lang gawin, mahirap bumuo. Tsk tsk tsk!

Buti pa si Duday (our female mini pincher dog) ... she'll be giving birth on March 28. Amber (Hazel's (a fellow W@wie and kinakapatid) golden retriever dog) will also scheduled to give birth anytime soon. Buti pa sila :( And I want to extend my regards to W@wie ka-bloggers Cathy, Mec, Rhea and Era on their pregnancy. Congratulations to all of you. So happy for you.

I'm thanking the Lord again for Jason have another project in hand. Sequel to sa renovation ng office ni FG (first gentleman Mike Arroyo). As usual, sa afternoon nagpapatrabaho sa site. Kasi medyo sensitive si FG sa sounds ... pukpok ng martilyo pinapatigil daw. Kaya ang mobilization nila lagi after office hours.

Before I end up my post, I want to tell something about Yummy Magazine. I've learned about this mag through femalenetwork.com's newsletter. I bought it's first ever issue last Sunday. I saw the recipes quite budget friendly. And ingredients are not that hard to find. All are in layman's term. unlike other cookbooks, they have different terms for their ingredients. It has a week planner of recipes you can serve for your family. It's a must have lalo na sa mga newlyweds. I haven't tried any of their recipes but soon I will. Hanggang end of the month nalang kasi ang angel ng tahanan namin. Hangga't walang maid, ako muna ulit ang chef.

Our Baguio Trip 2007

Sorry guys, I've been neglecting my blog for a week now, sorry about that. It's been a great week for us. A lot of family trips, shopping and dining out. February 24 - 25, 2007, we went to Baguio for the Panagbenga Festival.

Panagbenga means "flowers in bloom", and every year Baguio celebrates this event. It's a very colorful festival with float parades and colorful costumes. Of course, lots and lots of flowers. This is the season that all flowers in Baguio blooms. Hmmm ... I think lagi naman blooming ang flowers sa Baguio because of their climate. Panagbenga festival is a 2 month event. But the main events are the Street Dance and Float Parade. Ut's been a family tradition for 5 years now that we get to see the parade. Although when meninggococima (did I spell it right?) is an outbreak in Baguio, we missed the festival. We also missed it last year because of vehicle issues. The oil from the rear right wheel is leaking. That time we are about to get married by October. Alam nyo na, ang pamahiin, malapit sa aksidente ang ikakasal... kaya we just decided not to go.

We missed the street dance parade last Saturday. Too bad because the traffic was quite heavy due to a flyover being constructed in Baguio. Hmmmm... bakit kailangan ng flyover sa Baguio? And weird! We were checked in at Ridgewood Hotel. We we there by 10:30am na dapat 7am palang nasa Baguio na kami.

The manager of Ridgewood Hotel advised us not to go downtown because of the heavy traffic and tons of people going there to see the parade. He suggested to go to the Little Flower Convent if we want to buy some pasalubong. And after that, go to Sabado's Handicraft madami daw sila pretty goods.

After eating brunch, we went straight to The Little Flower Convent. It's our first time to see this place, that's why we got curious. Inside their premises lies a small store selling Baguio's famous products. Strawberry Jam, Ube Jam, Peanut Brittle, Cashew Brittle, Tamarind candies that is so addicting to eat because the sweetness and the sour taste is just right. And it has less seeds on it. Plus, if you buy their products, you help the Igorots who's making those products. It's like you're hitting two birds with one stone, nakatulong ka na, nabusog ka pa sa sarap ng products nila. We also bought Yacun tea which is good for diabetics like my dad. He bought a handful of it, kasi nga naman, kailan pa kami makakapunta ng Baguio ulit di ba?

Sabado's Handicraft
Not the usual handicraft store I see in Baguio. Medyo high end ang products nila compared to Mines View and the market in Baguio. Medyo natuwa lang kami mag site seeing, when my mom eyed over the small chair. She has a small director's chair at home but it's already broken. She asked Dad if he can buy it for her. And of course, how can a husband resist his very makulit wife hehehe! Tuwa ang nanay ko hehehe! Maganda naman kasi yung chair, made of pine wood. On the other hand, that bought a stick, some like a kamagong used in arnis. Para daw pag nag-jogging siya may pamalo daw siya sa mga stray dogs hehehe. What did I have for myself? None! Aside from I don't have money to buy something so expensive yet so beautiful, eh I don't know where to put it in our house. Though I love the sungka they made, not the usual sungka you see na mahaba ... shape nya parang oblong na paint palette. Ang ganda grabe!

Ridgewood Residence
When Jason and I went to Baguio for our mini honeymoon last December, we checked in Ridgewood Residence. So we made a reservation for the Panagbenga festival. We reserved Apartelle C. It's really a big room. 10 Occupants allowed, with 3 big beds and a sofa bed. 2 TV's, one at the sala and one at the bedroom. One powder room and one bathroom. One dining room and kitchen. There's an electric range and kitchen utensils too. Dinner sets is also provided. And eto ang the best ... it has it's own fireplace. Though Dad and Mom appreciate it more if it's located upstairs with the view of Baguio. It's downstairs kasi, malapit sa carpark. So wala ka makita view and medyo kulob siya. Pero pag pumapasok na yung lamig ng Baguio sa loob ng room, grabe freezer cold na siya. Yun nga lang, mahina signal dun sa ibaba... you need to put your cellphone sa may window side pa para magka-signal.



That day, Ridgewood celebrates it's 2nd anniversary. They had steak night for buffet. A treat for all the guest of the hotel. A lot of foreigners and media were there with us celebrating the steak night dinner. After that, there's a cultural dance show by young igorots to entertain us. Before the dance ended, they've asked guest to come join and dance with them. And I'm one of them hahaha! It's was quite embarrasing and fun at the same time. Anyway, they won't see me for a year so they won't recognize me anymore.


By 1:00a.m. Jason came after his camping trip with his fellow UAP in La Union. By 4:00a.m. my brother came also from his Saturday samba sa Dating Daan. Now we are complete hehehehe! We woke up early for the float parade. Before breakfast I was in the bathroom for so long because I'm nauseous at that time. When everybody thought I was pregnant ... vomit talaga ako ng vomit ... ebs ng ebs ... my mom told me baka daw hindi ako natunawan sa steak that night. Buti nalang nandiyan si mom, pinahiran niya ako ng eucalyptus oil sa stomach and sa dibdib. And after that I'm already okay.

Since I wasn't that hungry, I just ate cereals and sandwhich for breakfast. Everytime I eat rice, I'm throwing up. Jason was kind of worried that time and asked if I can still go to watch the parade... siyempre no! Ayoko na ma-miss yung float parade ... na-miss na nga namin yung street dance nung Saturday eh.

We were there at the start of the float parade at around 8:00am. We can see a lot of people already seating at the sidewalk waiting for the floats. We don't know if we have the best spot to watch the parade that time. So just stayed there, geared up our videocam and digicams and wait patiently.

As I expected, the floats are so pretty, especially Baguio Country Club Hotel's float. They are already a hall of famer kaya di na sila kasali sa contest. They always have a wedding theme.

Bad trip kami sa mga nagwowork sa SM Baguio. Daan sila ng daan sa mga kinaroroonan namin kasi daw malili-late na daw sila sa work. Heller? Alam naman nila na may float parade, bakit hindi sila pumasok ng maaga?! One guy told us that we're so mayabang daw, dayo lang naman daw kami. Yung sinabihan niya na middle aged woman told him "Anong dayo sinasabi mo diyan? Kung wala kami walang kwenta ang Panagbenga nyo?" Go manang ... iboboto kita sa Senado hehehe joke! Then Jason kid arround and said, "Wag kang pupunta ng Fairview, malilintikan ka!!!" and Everybody laughed! I really love my husband hehehehe!

There were a lot of famous celebrities as well. Team Unity minus Tito Sotto were there. They have their own float. Hay naku, ang pulitiko talaga. Super gwapo ni Migs at papa Ralph hahaha. Mike Defensor was there also but he's already in Session Road ... Allan Peter Cayetano was also their, nasa Session road din. Manny Villar ang super bait ... hindi nag-float. ANg sipag maglakad at makipagkamay sa tao. Nakakatuwa siya. Mr. Pichay have his own float representing Surigao. He has also a helicopter showering petals and confetti. Ang yaman no? hehehe! Who cares??? Ara Mina was there with Cebuana Lhuiller float and their basketball team. Francine Prieto for the San Miguel float. And starstruck Paolo riding SM's float.

After that we were so exhausted na kaya bumalik na kami sa hotel to pack our things and head home. Feeling ko talaga super napagod kami, but it was fun watching and celebrating the festival with Baguio. Next time ulit :)
