Janysha Andrea @ 1 month old

We celebrated Jandi's 1 month birthday last January 23, 2010. Mom cooked pancit and lechon paksiw while Jason bought cake and ice cream. It's still too early to tell Jandi's milestone, for she's only a month older. But all I can observe is that she can now recognize voices. Whenever someone is talking to her, she makes effort to look to the direction where the person is. And she loves classical music. Everytime my mom plays her instrumental CD's, she automatically be lulled to sleep (or all babies are like that? hehehe!). I can see tell that she can see a bit, maybe ... but still blurry.

here's Jandi with her first ever cake ... looking forward to have
more of these in the next coming months

our first ever family picture with Jandi ...
look at Janna, she's such a darling.

blow! blow! blow! Janna's helping her little sister to blow her candle

For the 3rd Time...

... we are going to change venue again for Janna's birthday party on May 16. There's no way the kids will enjoy the party if they are all dripping of sweat and the adults are already getting annoyed of the whole scenario. I've been doing ocular inspection during the afternoon. From 3:00pm onwards, it really is too hot in our backyard. One way to minimize it is to rent a misting fan to cater the whole place or do the party at night. But unfortunately, it's quite too expensive to rent a misting fan and a children's party at night... I don't think so.

The family had a serious talk at dinner. And Dad suggested that the party should be held in a much comfy place for the kids to enjoy. So we decided to have a Jollibee party for Janna. Yes, a Jollibee party.

And now we need to find a venue this week to booked the place and revised the invites ... sayang yung mga print outs, hindi na magagamit tsk!

Any suggestions of a Jollibee branch within Quezon City na medyo malaki ang venue for parties? Need your help, desperate na kami huhuhu!

Party Preps

Thanks to those people who read my blog last weekend. As of this moment, we are now preparing for Janna's birthday again. And this time, hubby is into it as well. I'll give a ran down of our preps plus the suppliers.

THEME - We decided not to have one para mas madali. But according to Mec, nabanggit ko na kasi ang colors na gagamitin for the party, sabi niya Crayola daw yung theme ko hahaha. Mukha ngang Crayola hehehe. You'll know why later.

DATE - May 11 falls on a Tuesday, so we decided to have the party by May 17, but realized that it's Mother's Day, so I have to change it to May 16. Time of the party have to wait ... by March, I have to observe the weather and how hot it is in our lawn from 3pm onwards.

VENUE - initially we got a venue from QC but due to tight budget, we asked them if we can get the refund in full. The owner said yes ... but take note that she only did that because we are one of her old clients. Of course, sa iba it will be forfeited. Our new venue will be in our own backyard. We have covered garage that can accommodate some people naman just in case it will rain and have a huge garden for kids to play.

VENUE DRESS-UP - I got Party Boosters to dress up our backyard. We'll gonna have to adjust the design dahil malaki na ang lugar na i-de-dress up niya. Will wait for her quote since she just received the photos yesterday. Balloons that she'll be using are based on pinks and purple.

FOOD CARTS - I have to talked to Ms. A if she still wants to work with me. I guess nagtampo siya sa akin when I cancelled all her services last week because of our budget. Now, hubby wanted to get her again for the food carts since walang bawal dito sa backyard namin, kahit ilang food carts pwede na hehehe. I think will be getting 4 instead of 2 food carts.

CATERER - I'm so sure it would be our good friend, Raymond Wong to cater our event. Their food is so good and we also got their services in one of my Dad's birthday party. Very affordable rates din.

PARTY HOST - Pencil booked with Wizzo ... thanks to Sis Jacque! mwah!

PHOTOGRAPHER - We got Ging Lorenzo as our photographer. Paid our downpayment already. We got her services also on Janna's Christening. Si Paul Vincent kasi fully booked na ng May.

CAKE - I already talked to Ms. Emily Uy of Sugarbox. Medyo may change lang sa details ng cake. I won't go with the cupcake tree but have a 2 or 3 layer cake nalang. Kasi medyo lumiit yung budget for the cake. Her cake will be in yellow, yellow green and orange.

LOOT BOX - I'll be getting Blaskie for the loot box. Then my cousin and I will go to Divi to buy some small toys and everything for the kids. Loot box would be in yellow, yellow green and orange as well.

INVITES - DIY ... I'll scrap one of her photos and pa-print nalang namin in 4R or 5R then put in an envelope with map and everything. Kaya ko yan ... actually nakaready na yung invite, will just have to put her latest photo. Papa-picture kasi kami sa studio ng April ... or I'll ask my photo hobbyist Tito or my photo hobbyist friend to capture her shots hehehe. Or pag kulang na sa time or kulang na sa budget... eh DIY nalang namin ni hubby ...

GUESTBOOK - I can scrap this one too, but I had a tip from fellow N@Wie and Ka-Plurkie, Julliefer, I can buy an 8 x 8 scrapbook in Papemelroti and paste Janna's photos nalang per page ... hmmm ... sounds good di ba? Since wala naman kami maid, and malabo din kasi ako makapag-digicrap ng maayos eh di pwede ko tong gawin.

TARPAULIN - madami daw kilala si hubby na nagpi-print ng tarpaulin, so this would not be a problem. And since DIY nanaman to eh ok lang ... grabe! kakayanin ko kaya to? huhuhu! Oo kaya ko to ...

May naalimutan pa ako? I didn't know that party planning is so stressful ... not to mention ... nakakabutas ng bulsa hahaha! Kahit ano basta para kay Janna gagawin namin for her.

My 31st Birthday 12.30.2008

Yup, I'm already 31 years old. Not so young but not so old as well. Next birthday ko wala na sa kalendaryo ang edad ko hehehe.

Before I reached 31, I hoped for a baby for me and hubby. Some say when you reach the age of 35, it's so crucial for a woman to conceive on her first born at that age. Kung 2nd, 3rd and so on ok lang ... pero pag first born daw medyo delikado. Before I reached 30 years old on the year 2007, I conceived and gave birth to my daughter, Julianna Alyssa on May 11, 2008.

Now that I'm already 31, I want to start this year to be productive. I wanted to do a lot of things. Something that could help me to decide what to venture for a small business. It's our mutual decision to be a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom), but i want to do something to help my husband. I've got so much things in mind but haven't decided it yet. Wish me luck! I can do this!

Initially, my family decided that we'll dine out in Trinoma. But since Me-anne and Relly just flew in from Singapore and India, and they told me that they'll be here on my birthday, we have no choice but to celebrate it at home. Minsan lang naman sila umuwi ng Pinas. And tuwing birthday ko, sila lang ang lagi kong bisita. Kasama din palagi si Arch. Vena na super bigtime na.

This year, there's an addition ... Chai and Sansu with their kids tagged along. No yaya kasi kaya no choice kundi bitbitin sila. Okay lang sa akin kasi Janna needs to be exposed to other kids na rin. Baka isipin niya kasi, that people around her were only adults hehehe.

Only this year that I have lots of photos on my birthday. It just happens that Relly bought himself his Christmas gift ... a Nikon D90 DSLR. Grabe naglaway ako promise. I actually tried taking shots using it and I love it. Parang gusto ko na din ng Nikon nyahahaha! Oh well, like I've said before, I have to leave the DSLR dream at the back seat for a while. Di pa kakayanin ng powers ko. That day also ang break-in ng Canon Ixus 85IS ko.

Thank you Lord for another year. Looking forward to celebrate my birthday this year. Patnubayan Nyo po ako palagi sa mga suliranin na dapat kong gampanan at nawa'y ilayo Nyo po ang pamilya ko sa sakit. We have so many out of town vacations this year, so we hope for good health especially for Janna so she won't miss out anything this year and the coming years.

More photos here and here.
